AYE!!! I AGREE 👍🏻💯 ABSOLUTELY NATIONALISM AND PATRIOTISM IS THE MOST IMPORTANT IN LIFE!!!
My mum taught her
She speaks so clearly it makes it much easier to understand, this encourages learners.
That . . is beautiful
I live in France but I am so in love with the sound of Scottish Gaelic that I’m trying to learn some through Duolingo. I don’t really know how far one can hope to go with Duolingo because I haven’t used it before but I guess any amount of Gaelic that I manage to learn from it will be more than I knew before. I don’t know if I will ever really get to use it because apparently even in Scotland there aren’t a lot of people that speak it fluently. Either way I’m so happy to learn it. I hope the Scottish people don’t let their language die. It is a real treasure.
As a Scottish American, I find this to be nothing short of a miracle For centuries, the British government has tried to strip everything about the Scottish culture away to to oblivion To be forever lost to the winds of time Our music Our musical instruments Our Clan Tartans Much was outlawed Hearing her fight for the survival of our ancient language is awe inspiring and heroic Ms Forbes I thank you very much for keeping it alive
I'm alright with protecting gaelic but it's clear the snps goal is actually to destroy English in Scotland
Please keep your beautiful language esp Gaelic.
Beautiful and somehow strange sounding language
Wow! A striking and beautiful sounding language. Why don't they teach schools in Gaelic-medium throughout all of Scotland?
I remember back when I was in high school, and was informed that Fife wasn't on the list of regions that teaches Gaelic, I almost walked out in protest.
If you care about your culture then learn your language, even if only a tiny bit everyday, even if you never become anywhere near proficient, if you claim to love your culture, please try!
Kate Forbes should have been first minister for Scotland. Scotland needs a Gaelic seeking first minister 😊😊
Please keep the language alive. Sadly, many of us born in Australia don't even know we have another tongue, and we are taught nothing, literally nothing, of our ancestors or how we got here. Please, please, protect our heritage!
I'm Canadian and I agree with you on this.
I hear parts of German in there and Russian.
Sounds like mixture of Klingon and elvish tongue straight from LOTR 😅
Losing our language has forfeited our identity and heritage. The damage is immeasurable.
bummer
I love it
What a beautiful language.
It needs to be on public signage with English, the more it is integrated in public places the easier it is for people to adopt and learn it. I am in New Zealand, I am learning Scots Gaelic because it is my ancestral language. I am visiting Scotland soon and hope to see and hear Gaelic as a living language. It is beautiful, poetic and lives within our cellular memories as long as Scottish blood courses through our bodies - the Gaelic has life - all we need do is speak it! Also New Zealand has incorporated the Maori language into everyday living, with bilingual immersion that is the two languages are used publicly side by side and the Maori is given precedence if one of the two needs to be used first. Schools play a big part in this. An aside but important - learning and speaking more than one language is so healthy for your brain everyone needs to do it!
Too bad Forbes is a misogynist and queerphobe.
Hearing her speak Gaelic instantly makes her more attractive.
elevates her from a 5 to a 6
@@prn_97_ I can live with that.😂
I'm a Canadian very proud of my family's heritage and am currently learning Gaelic! It's so important for ample opportunities to learn one's culture's language. If I had the option of learning Gaelic in school, I would have. Instead, I learned French for twelve years because Quebec whined about it and I haven't used it once since graduating high school eleven years ago, so I have forgotten it. Even the indigenous students didn't have the option to learn their language academically until Grade 10, and then the school cut the program due to the money it would take to hire another teacher. *Don't strip people of their culture, and if one still has the option to withhold theirs- take it. It's heartbreaking every time a language dies.* (Plus, if more people start speaking Gaelic, I don't have to travel all the way to the Hebrides to practise!)
The un are satan
I find it amazing that Wales and Scotland stand out for their Welsh and Gaelic language while the middle part of the UK has english which everyone speaks 😄 Welsh and Scots are special
I've only a lick of Ulster Irish but this was quite intelligible. Maith thu, Kate!
it's ironic that she's a devout christian - the ones that made you stop speaking your native language
Not really though, its not the religion that attacked the language. it's the people that followed the religion
Is toil leam seo gu mor
The e math dha rirbh Shan chanan
I wanted to send my youngest to the gaelic school in glasgow but he had to have agarlic speaking family member toget in 😢
Thog thu siud cearr saolidh mi. Tha mise eolach air torr clann a tha dol troimh foghlam Ghaidhlig s chaneil gin den pharantan le Ghaidhlig. Suidheachadh mi-fhortanach. Oir tha e doirbh dhaibh a bhi siubhlach na comhradh ged s fhurasda dhaibh an canan a leantainn.
I'm only going by what I was told when I called the Glasgow gaelic school
Laughing at myself not noticing it changed my spelling to gaelic 🤭
Don't see pro Union Scottish doing this 😂
Sexiest language on this planet!
Taing dhut
Such a beautiful language ❤🇸🇪
Kate Forbes is gorgeous.
Gaelic must be very useful in the modern world.
Aye, just like a king?
Hypnotising
I am Russian. Gaelic sounds musical to me
Humza Usless would say that language is "TOOO WHIIIITEEE"
This was 5 years ago, now you have an Arab Antiwhite in there saying there are too many white people in the Scottish government. So much for Gaelic, if the people go it is no longer Scotland. End of the story. Scotland for the Scottish, Whales for the Welsh, Ireland for the Irish, and England for the English.
Chan e duthaich arabach a th ann a alba
@@TheoneZeldaplayer I assume you mean Albion and not Albania?
No Carson a bha thu a smaoineachadh sin
@@TheoneZeldaplayer because Scotland refers to Albion.
Make Gaelic strong again!!! Gaelic is also spoken in Canada! we have an entire island here that speaks Gaelic. In Cape Breton, Nova Scotia the signage is in English and Gaelic! I love my ancestral language and I am learning it here in Canada myself. You're a warrior! Tapadh leat agus slàinte!
Is toil leam Kate Forbes!
Tha Gaidligh snog!
Our race and our language matters.
So join your local organization.
Listen to the man Think about what he is saying the bag is a gimick its what comes out of his mouth most important
I am currently learning this language because one of my haplogroups goes straight back to the Picts. I know the Picts had their own language, but which one of the two would possibly be closer to what they spoke: Welsh or Scottish Gaelic? Any ideas?
When we lose languages we lose unique perspectives and sometimes ways to think. We need to keep teaching old languages
Alba gu bràth !
Shame on Scottish people that they don’t know their own language!
when you meet a real Gaelic speaker their language is wonderful...maybe stop learning basic pleasantries' in French and German ( I love french and German language) but why do we learn stuff that most people will never use ?. I love seeing Gaelic roadsigns, reminds me we have something worth saving.
I hope we can revive our beatuiful language
Klingons
The brain dead SNP upper echelons preferred Humza totally-feckin-Useless to this highly talented and charismatic young politician. It seems to me that the main problem they had with ms Forbes is that she is pro-Scottish and loves her homeland. Useless on the other hand is proven to be utterly incompetent and appears determined to drive Scotland into the ground.
It would be good if Gaelic language in Google was accurate.
